I've been waiting for this one for so long. Cruel Beauty was probably my favorite read last year. So it was a lot to live up to. And I wouldn't say it's failing, exactly. I'm not massively disappointed. And I'm ripping through it, and wanting to continue reading way past the time I knew I should be trying to go to sleep. But I did love the complexity and character development of Cruel Beauty (and Gilded Ashes) and those are two things that feel slightly underdeveloped (so far) int his book. So not exceptional so far, but not by any means BAD. Just struggling to meet my massive expectations.
